Kristie is survived by her loving husband of ten years, Jase Thibodeaux; parents Joseph A. Gioe and Diane P. Gioe; sisters Lisa Doll Sahuque and Lori Doll Temple; brothers Joseph A. Gioe, Jr. and Michael J. Gioe; eight nieces and nephews; and one great-niece.
Kristie loved animals, especially her three living fur babies, Rubble, Sterling, and Phoebe, and two late angels, Sassy and Brolly. She and her husband loved day trips on their motorcycles and finding fun, new places to eat. Kristie loved cars, whether it was cruising across Lake Pontchartrain with the top down in her former stylish convertible Mustang or her recent pride and joy “ducking” fellow Jeep lovers! She loved adventure, great music, Mardi Gras, and the allure of the French Quarter vibe. She was loved by many and affectionately referred to as “Woozie Koozie,” “Kristie Bug,” and “Aunt Cookie.” Kristie was always there to lend a helping hand. She was fearless, brassy, stylish, and bold, but also such a gentle, sweet, kind, and loving soul. Kristie loved to laugh and share stories with her family and siblings. She loved the serenity and tranquility of Lake Pontchartrain, especially at sunset; the cool woodsy trails of a hidden path in the Smoky Mountains; the magical excitement of Disney; and the lights, music, throws, and energy of Mardi Gras! A Hospitality Hostess and Tour Guide for Crawl New Orleans, student of USM, and a Catholic, Kristie touched many hearts and lives with her smile, her genuineness, and her loving spirit.
A memorial visitation for Kristie will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, Louisiana 70124.
