Kit Macheca Bohn

Kathleen "Kit" Macheca Bohn August 17, 1930 - October 13, 2014 Kit Bohn, our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away at home on Monday, October 13th, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born in New Orleans as the beloved and only child to Michael and Kathleen Macheca. Throughout her life she was admired for her generous spirit and kind heart. She was an avid gardener, bridge player and world traveler. Kit was committed to serving others and volunteered on boards for numerous organizations, including the New Orleans Opera Association, De Paul Hospital, New Orleans Garden Society, The American Heart Association, The Valencia Club and the Academy of the Sacred Heart. Kit was preceded in death by her late husband Robert "Bobby" W. Zetzmann, Sr. She is survived by her seven children: Donald B. Bohn Jr. (Jill), Ginger Baldwin (Fred), Priscilla Dalton (John), Scott Bohn (Ashley), Donna Marie Patten (JP), Theresa Godman (Jim) and Van Bohn (Sammie); and their father, Donald B. Bohn Sr. "Mae Mae" is also survived by her ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, to whom she passed her loving spirit, joy of life and sense of adventure. She will be remembered on Thursday, October 16th at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10am-12pm, followed by a 12 o'clock mass. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Academy of the Sacred Heart or The Companions of St. Anthony.
