Karen Rome Hebert, age 66, is now at eternal rest with Our Lord Jesus Christ. She left this world peacefully at home on January 8, 2024 after months of fighting cancer. Karen was born on December 22, 1957 to Rose Bode Rome and Andre Marcel Rome Sr of Metairie. She married Blake Hebert on August 20, 1977 and shared 46 beautiful years. Karen attended Archbishop Chapelle High school and the University of New Orleans. She worked as a legal secretary and paralegal for several firms in New Orleans and Metairie including Sessions-Fishman, Lowe-Stein, Southern Legal Clinics, and with her friend Betsy Fischer. Karen was involved with St Catherine of Siena Co-op, parish fairs, Mt Carmel Academy, Rummel High and is a member of St Phillip Neri parish. Her most loved and important calling was that of Nana for the past 16 years.
She is preceded in death by her loving in-laws, Mary Lee, and Kermit Hebert.
Karen is survived by her beloved parents, her husband, daughter Vicki H. Summerville, husband Brett, their lovely daughters Madilyn, Katelyn, Emily and Abigail Summerville and her son Kevin Hebert and his wife Alaina of Pinson, AL. She is survived by her sister Cindy R. Haas, (O.L.) her brother Andre M. Rome Jr. (Melinda), Sister-in-law Priscilla H. Villio (Ray), brothers-in-law Tony Hebert (Kay) of Niceville, FL and Leon Hebert (Kim) of Covington, LA. She is survived by nieces and nephews Mandy H. Mooney (Chris), Lauren H. Murray (Gavin), Nathan Rome, Rebecca Rome, Matt Villio (Julie), Jill Villio, Summer H. Hayes (Mark), Leslie Allenbach Hatton, Kelsey Hebert, Isaac Hebert, and Macey Hebert and great nieces and nephews Harper Mooney, C.J. Mooney, Cameron Murray, Evelyn Rome, Caroline Villio, Alexander Villio and Jaxon Villio.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00AM and a Funeral Mass will follow at 2PM. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
