She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. Joseph Anthony Tusa. Survived by her beloved children, Mark Anthony Kang Tusa, Heather Marie Lan Tusa Gill (Ryan Rene Gill), and Claudia Anna Lupo Tusa; grandchildren, Gabrielle Marie Gill, Miley Marie Gill, and Caleb Joseph Gill.
Jung Lan was a native of Mokpo, South Korea who moved to the United States at the age of 21 and eventually resided in Metairie, Louisiana with her family. She had a whirlwind romance with her husband, the kind you only see in the movies. He was an officer in the United States Army stationed in South Korea and they met on a blind date at the movies. As they say, the rest is history. She acclimated to American culture and became fluent in English when she was introduced into her husband’s family. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family with all her being. Her grandchildren brought her so much happiness and love. Though she was beautiful, feisty, and strong-willed, she was the most generous person who asked nothing in return. She was an extraordinary cook, capable of mastering various types of dishes from Korean to Italian to good ‘ol Southern Louisiana cuisine. It brought her so much joy to feed people. Anyone who met her was captivated by her stories and her charm . She was well respected throughout her community and wise beyond her years. She was always dressed to the nines and had a natural creative talent for decorating and flower arranging. Her other hobbies included gardening, crafting, traveling, and definitely shopping. Her generosity, love, smile and I LOVE LUCY-esque antics will be missed and remembered by her children, grandchildren and dearest friends.
