John Mills Bateman Jr.

John M. Bateman, Jr. passed away on October 3, 2017. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife, of 33 years, Catherine Ingrassia Bateman. Father of Holly Faucheaux (Tony), Stephanie Milano (Keith) and John “Scott” Bateman (Dawn). Grandfather of Brigitte, Bryan and Bryce Faucheaux and Nicolas Milano. Brother of Annette Dunham (Dick), Joan Haverkamp, Jimmy Bateman and Charlie Bateman (Jane). He is preceded in death by his parents, John Bateman and Annette Kieffer.

John graduated from De La Salle High School and then went on to Tulane University. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. John has worn many hats throughout his life including; being a salesman for Nabisco, working for Southern Tours for 22 years and in that time became Vice-President, owning a doughnut shop and most recently he has become the owner of Pro Auto, suppling automotive paints and body shop supplies. John was a member of the NRA and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed sailing and most importantly spending time with his family. He will be greatly miss by all of those who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 1:00PM. Visitation will begin at 11:00AM until service time. Condolences may be expressed at www.LakeLawnMetairie.com
