Joey Tufaro

He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on July 7, 1966. A proud graduate of Archbishop Rummel High School class of 1984, he continued his education at LSU before earning his degree in business and finance from Loyola University of New Orleans. He went on to become an entrepreneur, and later in life had a career in the film industry as a movie producer. In his free time, he enjoyed basketball, golf, bike rides, and movies. Joey was a passionate sports enthusiast, spending many years playing on various basketball teams- including LSU- and participating in numerous golf tournaments. He cherished riding bikes around the city and watching movies with his family. Joey's active lifestyle and dedication to his loved ones will always be fondly remembered by those who knew him.

Joey is survived by his wife of six years, Megan Rutherford Tufaro; daughters, Kaylee and Kirsten Tufaro; sons, Liam and Greyson Tufaro; mother, Stephanie Tufaro; sister, Julie Tufaro; and niece, Mia Huffstutler.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the family and friends who have supported Joey during his final months.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 444 Metairie Road in Metairie, on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 10:30 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM. After the Mass, Joey will be laid to rest in All Saints Mausoleum.
