Janie Lazzara Smith

Janie was a member of the National Federation of Republican Women for over 40 years, a Member of the Krewe of Shangri-La and a devout catholic. She enjoyed many things including playing Bingo, going to the casino, cooking, reading, dancing, drinking delicious Bloody Mary’s, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Janie is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Paul V. Smith; her son-in-law, Glenn Phillips; as well as her parents, sisters and brother.

She is the loving mother of Cynthia Tenisci (Vince), Paulette Phillips, Mary Munoz (Michael) and Lea Kersh (Tony); adoring grandmother of Tammy (Chuck), Jason (Anita), Justin (Amy), Tony (Kimmy), Josh, and Paul (Katie); great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan, Jacob, Natalie, Ryan, Lauren, Nick, Bryson, and Paulie.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 9:00am until Mass begins at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park where she will be laid to eternal rest with her husband.
