James was born in Greece in 1935, a land rich in history and culture. It was there that he developed the values and work ethic that would guide him throughout his life. As a young man, he embarked on a journey that took him across the world to New Orleans, Louisiana, a city that would become his home and the place where he built his legacy.
In New Orleans, James found more than just a new place to live; he found a community and a sense of belonging. He became a successful businessman, respected by peers and admired by those who worked with him. His hard work and dedication were evident in every venture he undertook, and his success was a testament to his determination and business acumen.
But James’ greatest achievements were not in his professional life alone. He was the proud father of four children and the loving grandfather of eight grandchildren. His family was the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He was a guiding light and a source of strength for his children, imparting wisdom, love, and a sense of responsibility. His grandchildren will forever remember him as a playful and kind-hearted grandfather who brought joy to their lives.
James was also a pillar of the Greek Orthodox community in New Orleans. His faith was an integral part of his identity, and he dedicated much of his time and energy to supporting the church and its activities. He found comfort and solace in his faith, and his commitment to the church was an inspiration to all who knew him.
As we reflect on James’ life, we remember a man of integrity, generosity, and warmth. He touched the lives of many with his kindness and his unwavering commitment to his family, his community, and his faith. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those who had the privilege of knowing him. We honor his memory by cherishing the lessons he taught us and the love he shared with us. Though he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will forever remain a part of our lives.
Rest in peace, James. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
James will be laid to rest privately in St. Louis Cemetery #3 on Monday, July 8, 2024 in a ceremony led by The Very Reverend Father George Wilson.
