Glen was preceded in death by his parents, James Washington Philmon, Sr. and Clara Virginia McCurley Philmon; his son, Glen Edward (Trish) Philmon, Jr.; and his brother, James Washington Philmon, Jr.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Helen Crabtree Philmon; his two daughters, Sherri (Chris) Hotard and Rhonda (Jimmy) Cairo; his sisters, Martha Virginia Philmon and Evelyn Marie Philmon Estes; his brothers, William Hardtner Philmon and Jake Carrol Philmon; his grandchildren, Shane Philmon, Kristin Hotard Barboza, Allyson Cairo Wade, and Megan Hotard Jarrell; and great-grandchildren, William and Palmer Wade, Collin Barboza, and Kenneth Jarrell.
Glen was born in Silsbee, Texas. He was a business owner for most of his career. He was a member of First Baptist New Orleans Church and was a faithful deacon and Bible Study leader for many years. He enjoyed gardening, playing golf, and fellowship with his friends and family. He also created a website in honor of Christ and his son, Glen Philmon, Jr. (www.bible-chat.net).

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at First Baptist New Orleans Church, 5290 Canal Blvd. in New Orleans, on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 12:00PM. A visitation will take place at the church beginning at 11:00 AM.
