Gerald Joseph "Jerry" Harper passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Irving Harper and mother Delphine Brignac, brother Ronald, sister-in-law Beverly Generes, brother-in-law Roy Hammack and father-in-law Carlos J. Noto. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Laura Noto and children, Darren (Jessica), Stephanie, Colleen Woodman (Howard) and Christopher. Jerry was the devoted grandfather to his grandchildren, Jeanne, William Jaime Harper and Emily Woodman. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Ollie Noto Hammack and numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved pet, Archie. He was born 78 years ago in French Settlement, LA. Jerry was a proud member of the last graduating class of Metairie High and Southeastern Louisiana University where he was a member of Kappa Delta Tau He was also a member of Independent Adjusters of Louisiana and the Good Ole Boys of Metairie. He retired in 1982 from American General and later that year he established Harper, Ltd., retiring in 2009.Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Ponchartrain Blvd., New Orleans from 12pm - 2pm, with religious services beginning at 2pm, interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude Children's hospital will be appreciated.
