Frances Macheca Mariano

Frances Macheca Mariano passed away at her home surrounded by her family on May 5, 2023. She was 82 years old. Born in New Orleans and resided in Metairie for 50 years, she is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Mariano; her mother, Virginia Pecoraro Macheca; her father, Anthony Macheca; her sister, Rosalie Ernst; and her brothers-in-law Kenneth Ernst and Gilbert Trainor. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Pettus (Joseph) and Milinda Frey, and her sister-in-law, Constance Trainor, as well as seven grandchildren: Jennifer Fonte, Joseph Pettus Jr (Holly), James Pettus (Kristen), Stephanie Castillo (Desiree), Shane, Heather, and Rachel Frey; and seven great grandchildren: Leah and Anthony Fonte; Hailynne, Brody, and Aubrey Pettus; Elijah and Ezra Castillo.

She had a strong spirit and was a wonderful mother who was always there for her children and grandchildren. She maintained a beautiful loving home for her family throughout the years and was a caring and devoted wife of 57 years to our beloved departed dad. With her loving compassionate heart, she provided dad all the support and care he needed in his final days. She will always hold a place in our hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans on Friday May 12th, 2023 at 2PM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 12PM. The interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
