Donovan L. Ferguson

Donovan is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 35 years, Jo Ann Ragusa Ferguson; his daughters, Lauren Ferguson Keppel (Steven) and Elaine Ferguson Peltier (Jake); his son, Matthew Ferguson; grandchildren, Avery Keppel, Grayson Keppel, and expecting Baby Peltier; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Susan Ferguson.

Donovan graduated from Lafayette High School and was a graduate of U.S.L. in Finance where he played on a golf scholarship. He then went on to obtain his Masters of Finance from Tulane University. He established a successful career as the Mutuels Manager of the Fair Grounds Race Course and Slots in New Orleans.

An avid golfer, Donovan was a member of the Driftwood Park Country Club where he was actively involved in numerous positions. He cherished time spent with his family and loved trying new restaurants with his wife, Jo Ann.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all family and friends who have given their support during this difficult time.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass to be held in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124 on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
