Deborah Ann Cocran-Hock, age 67, of Metairie, Louisiana passed away suddenly on Monday, May 22, 2023. Born in Biloxi, Mississippi, Debbi graduated from Slidell High School in1974, where she was proud to be the student director for her senior play, 'Camelot.' She also enjoyed being on the Saga staff her senior year and a majorette throughout high school. After attending Louisiana State University, Debbi was an Administrative Assistant at various companies throughout her career including Chevron, Taylor Energy, and Ankor Energy. She served as Supreme Inspector for the state of Louisiana and Supreme Confidential Observer of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, was a member of Lakeshore Chapter #59 Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Slidell prior to moving to Metairie where she became a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
Debbi loved spending time with her daughter and going on adventures with her including an unforgettable trip to Austria and Germany to see the sites of the Sound of Music. She was overjoyed when her daughter and son-in-law welcomed “Prince” George (as she liked to refer to him) in October 2021, and she loved watching him grow. She also adored her sisters and loved spending time with them and their children and grandchildren. Her time spent dedicated to the Rainbow Girls was one of her biggest accomplishments, and she loved to see the girls thrive and become beautiful and mature young women. She met many of her life-long friends through that organization. She also loved playing bells with the church when her busy schedule would allow. She never wanted to miss her lunches with her lunch bunch crew and was always thankful for the laughs and support they provided. She was the family picture taker and had an attic full of scrapbooks from when Angela was born to present.
Debbi was preceded in death by her husband of 13 years, Raymond Hock, Jr.; parents Dr. Marvin Harold Cocran and Viola Schmidt Cocran; and sister Suzanne Cocran Mabie. She is survived by daughter Angela Cocran Sella (Eric); stepchildren Brian Hock (Beth) and Mary Catherine Hock and their children; sister Marlene Cocran Luparello (Lester); half-siblings Jeff Cocran (Gina), Stacy Cocran, Leslie Cocran Johnson (Jeff), and Jason Cocran (Michelle) and their children and grandchildren; grandson George Sella; nieces and nephews Charles Leake (Kayla), Lucas Leake (Lexy), Misty Fingar (Aaron), and Christian Bajon; and great niece and nephews Ellyson and Max Fingar, and Carter Leake.
