She worked as a cook and a baker for the Jefferson Parish Public School System until her retirement. She loved attending any and all parades with her family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Allan E. Stevens; parents, Samuel and Lorraine Fury; daughter Sherrie Lynn Stevens; son, Allan E. Stevens, Jr.; sister, Betty Ann Meany; and brother, Francis Fury.
She is survived by her half-sisters, Lisa Smith and Karen DePorter; half-brother, David Fury; and grandson, Austyn J. Stevens.
Special acknowledgement should be given to her siblings, Karen, Lisa, and David, for their assistance during this time.
Her memorial gathering will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 1 – 5 PM.
