He was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison Parker Vesy and Gertrude Gilbert Vesy, and his siblings, Gilbert P. Vesy and Patricia Vesy Brown Aleff. Caryl is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Barbara Williams Vesy; his daughter, Michele V. Enright; his son-in-law, Eric M. Enright; and his grandchildren, Parker and Juliette.
Caryl graduated with a BS degree from L.S.U. and a Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola University. While serving as a city attorney during the Moon Landrieu administration, he worked with the Historic District Landmarks Commission, Vieux Carré Commission, and French Market.
Caryl was a true New Orleanian who was passionate about preserving the city’s rich history and always had a good story to tell. He especially enjoyed fishing at his camp with family and friends. He was a fixture at the Rendon Inn for many years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside service at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 11:00AM.
