Bret Padgett Gessner passed away on June 11, 2024 at the age of 41. He was born in Metairie, Louisiana, on July 21, 1982. While attending Loyola University, he was on the Dean’s list and in Pi Sigma Alpha and Pi Alpha Theta. After graduating, he became a senior sales engineer at Gigamon, sharing his expertise in cloud computing and assisting customers all over the country. He was featured in the Marquis Who’s Who Publications and the 2023-2024 edition of Who’s Best In America. In his free time, he loved flying airplanes, golfing, playing guitar, and listening to music. He was so vivacious and everyone that knew him adored him. He was known for his great sense of humor. He could light up a room with his gregarious nature and his hilarious “no filter” attitude. Those lucky enough to have known him will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Ralph James Gessner.
Bret is survived by his mother, Susan Padgett Gessner; sisters, Paige Holzenthal (Karl) of New Orleans, Susan Marchbanks (Dan) of Charlotte, NC, Ashley Gessner Vignes of New Orleans; brother, James Gessner (Carol) of Waterford, Connecticut; and his nephew and godchild, Lodovico Marziale Vignes, V.
The family will be hosting memorial services at a later date.
