     I was an office employee at DedicatedTransportation in Opelousas years ago. I just found out today July 25. 2022  that Ben died.
 I was in disbelief . I am so sorry to hear of this news . 
Mrs Hogan I know how hard this is as I lost my husband in November of the same year.  It is life-changing. Learning to do things alone and making decisions alone on almost everything. . Losing my husband has been a difficult journey as I know it is for you as well. Take courage ,be strong and hold on to your family and the wonderful memories.
I pray that God gives you needed strength today and in the days to follow.

Ben introduced & provided me one of my greatest loves in this world, a sweet boxer puppy named Lola, Bo's sister. I am forever grateful to both he and Sandy.

To Sandy, Kate, John, Caleb and Benjamin,  
I have been trying to come up with a favorite story to share about Ben and I finally realized I do not have one favorite story or even two or three, although there are a couple that come to mind that can’t be shared on this forum!  Ben was involved in the entire book of my life, not just in short stories that I can easily share.  We went to kindergarten, grade school and high school together.  We played little league together.  Ben had a wicked fastball as a 10 year old but control was not really his thing and I was on the receiving end of more than one of his high and tight pitches.  Ben went to LSU and I went to USL but we remained as close as ever, getting together for football games or any other reason we could come up with just to hang out.

Ben and I worked offshore together during the summers.  We were in each other’s weddings, celebrated the births of each other’s children and vacationed together numerous times.  

As business owners, Ben and Nancy formed a bond that only they could share.  He advised her and she did the same for him.  On many occasions Nancy would tell me, she and Ben talked about this or that during the day and I just thought that was so cool, that my dearest childhood friend and my wife had such a special connection.  

We are going to think of Ben every day because he is so much a part of us, and for that, we are forever grateful.  Our memories will give us some comfort and will help us to go on.   May the love of God give us peace.

Sandy, Kate, Cale, Benjamin, John, Brenan and Beau.  You all know how much we love Ben and how we are grieving with you.  Being best friends with our little group for over 40 years has been nothing short of a blessing.  I can not image our lives going forward without Ben.  He and Keith have talked numerous times about all the things we all were going to do as a group growing old together.   Our group is now incomplete, but we will continue to celebrate Ben's life in living out his dream.  Sandy we will all continue to grow old together through travel, beach trips, dinning, crawfish boils, hunting (maybe not you ) and just hanging together. I know I speak for all.   I already miss his voice, his hugs, his jokes and his gentlemen ways.  Ben was a sweet loving teddy bear and is sorely missed.   We are so heart broken.  With Love, Kitty and Keith

We were so sad to hear about Ben.   Please know that we are thinking of and praying for all of you during this difficult time.  

We enjoyed working with Ben over the last 20 years as his benefits and retirement consultants.  I'll never forget the first time I talked with Ben and he told me in no uncertain terms how much he hated " insurance" and thought we were all crooks!  I laughed, but he was serious!  Even though our work relationship started off a little rocky, he eventually came to trust and enjoy working with us as well.  We will miss Ben.

I worked with ben and enjoyed his company. Did a lot of work for him on his rentals, did a lot of hunting together, even went crawfishing together. Sorry for the lost he will be greatly missed.

Ben was the best and fairest boss I ever worked for . He was really there to here your problems if you had any. He cared for us drivers. I will miss Ben much.  Condolences to all his family

Benny and I grew up together as kids in the 1400 block of Burbank Drive. I have many fond memories of us playing all over the neighborhood. I also have fond memories of Mr. Ben and Ms. Rose. They were a good family and fun to be around. Sorry we didn’t keep in touch, sounds like he grew up to be a fine gentleman and father.

Getting to know Ben was truly a pleasure for me. I enjoyed his outlook on life and his opinions about business and the world in general . We definitely seem to have a lot in common and became friends instantly. When the news came that Katie had a little boy I could only imagine that big smile on his face knowing how happy he was! He will be missed by all that new him.  His family is in my thoughts and prayers. Tommy Laizer

I feel blessed to have known Ben. He was a genuine person and I see that in Katie as well.  A memory I will never forget was that Grand wedding he had for his daughter Katie and my nephew John. I’m glad that we got to spend some fun times with him & Sandra, I know he loved his family dearly and baby Brenan. Rest In Peace Ben. 

Uncle ben was an amazing God father and always helped me out when I asked for it. Man was kind always offering great times and was someone I could look up to. Even with him gone you can still feel all that he left for us. The memories, the experience and the love he shared to us all will be forever remembered and treasured. We will all miss him and I know deep in my heart he’s in peace with the loved ones that have left before us, smiling on all of us as we go through life. He was and is forever a great man. 

Living across the street from Ben and Sandy has  enriched our New Orleans experience. I learned about crawfish boils and how to eat gumbo with potato salad from Ben. He was always at our driveway drinks, ready with a smile or teasing me about something. My girls were his sneaky Girl Scout cookie suppliers. I used to save a case of Samoas for him and sneak them to him when  no one  was looking. Larry and Ben had lots of stories about Katrina living without electricity too. I don’t think I can post them here... Ben was always there with a helping hand when one was needed. I’m going to miss our friendly waves as we were going in and out of our driveways or when he drove up to his mailbox every night on his way home. 

I first met Ben in 2013 when I became the HOA Treasurer of The Village at Broussard, a development that Ben had started.  Through the years Ben and I had several conversations regarding the HOA and things happening in the subdivision as he continued to develop Phases II and III.  He had great passion for this subdivision.  I was truly shocked when I learned of his passing.  I am sure that a lot of the residents here will also miss Ben for his knowledge and love for this subdivision.

Ben and I were friends for many years working together as youngsters at Saia.  Both of us were  blessed to be promoted and take on more responsibilities throughout the years.

He and I shared a lot of good times and great memories..

I will always smile when I think of Ben.  He made my life better for having known him.

My mother remembers the happy, skinny kid who would jump over the fence into our yard. We lived next to the Hogans on Burbank Drive for many years. We have wonderful memories of Miss Rose, Mr. Ben (sr.), Vicki, Benny, Cindy, Mary Lou. Cindy and Mary Lou, we were so sorry to learn of Benny's passing. Thank you for posting the wonderful pictures of his life. We know you will all miss him. We will keep Benny, his family, and you all in our prayers. We remember him and all of you so fondly! Ben was my first boss at Saia Motor Freight and became a great friend and mentor over the last 30 years.  After my own dad passed away,  Ben was the person I called for advice when I was unsure about a major decision in my life. When I was living in Texas and wanted to come home,  he hired me (again). After 3 years I was offered a position back at Walmart and I was so scared to tell him because I thought he would be mad at me for leaving Dedicated. Our conversation that day is my favorite memory of him. He was so supportive,  told me that he was proud of me and wished me the best with my career at Walmart.  He was a great friend and I will miss him very much. 

I met and worked with Ben while working for LMTA. I can still remember the first time he called the office. I thought it was someone pretending to be the great golfer, Ben Hogan.  Ben was a very special person and will be greatly missed. 😢

My favorite story about Benny is once when he was living with us - we took a trip and left Benny in charge Ren - Erik's phycho dog.  For some crazy reason Ren was barking at 2 in the morning (not unusual for that dog) and Benny decided to let him out thinking him needing to go out was why he was barking.  WRONG - Ren ran out and started chasing a lizard around the swimming pool and Benny was furiously chasing Ren and cussing trying to get him to shut up and get back in the house - all this time Benny is in his underwear - the commotion woke up the next door neighbors who came over killing them selves laughing (they knew Benny and they knew Ren so they weren't surprised by the behavior of either of them), and helped him get Ren inside.  Of course they couldn't wait for us to get home to tell us about Benny's adventure with Ren!  Luckily we were gone long enough that by the time we got home even Benny could see the humor in the situation!!

I have so many fond memories of Ben. One of my favorite was with Joshua and Ben. Joshua sitting in Ben’s chair at the condo every time Ben got up, Joshua jumped in his chair. When Ben asked Joshua to get him another freeze pop (Joshua was in his zone), Joshua told him no, he had had enough freeze pops. Sandy had to give him permission for more.

I had the honor of meeting Mr. Hogan at an Lousiana Motor Carrier Association meeting.  He was always a gracious gentleman and will remember him kindly for his kind, friendly spirt.  I pray for him and his family during this difficult time.  

To me, Ben was a customer, a business partner and mostly my friend.  I will miss talking to him about business, family, politics and life.  My family was his business partner (mostly silent until now) for almost 15 years and we could not be more proud of what Ben and his team has built.  Never had a cross word with him, never doubted his vision for the business and we are happy to be a part of his legacy.  Our deepest condolences to his wonderful family.

My best memory of Ben and your family was about 15 years ago. We met you and your family at Theresa Stokes’ house at Christmas. We talked about going to New York the next week. You all were on our same flight. We kept running into y’all all over New York!  Great memories!

I was deeply sorry to hear about my friend, I worked for Ben for 5 years and I really appreciated the vision he had for the company... will be missed, as I got on the road today and seen several Dedicated trucks I remembered the small beginnings and where the company is today!! Rest In Peace my Friend 

  I will always remember Ben Hogan chasing "King" in his white car as the kids were heading for the bus. I'm sorry his life was cut short.

To Katie: you were always so proud to be his daughter.  Mr. Ben  was supportive and present at any important event I can think of from high school to now. So full of life, so full of dance moves #thePedestrian  But an all time Dad move and sweet memory for me was him being so worried about me being cold while we were taking photos at your wedding on the roof of the Roosevelt. I was 36 weeks pregnant with Beau, and he was so persistent in insuring that I was comfortable. He was so fun and a gentleman. 

I met Ben and Sandy many years ago, when I helped them find their home in Mandeville.  We have stayed in touch over the years.  Ben has always been kind and fair and funny.  He was just a great father and family man and I always admired him for his success in business and all other aspects of his life.  He was taken way too soon and I know how much Sandy and his children will miss him.  Rest In Peace , Ben.  

I loved listening to Ben tell a story. My cheeks would hurt after spending 5 minutes with him. I loved his sense of humor and wit. One of my favorite memories is of him watching a Disney show with my kids and he was cracking up laughing with them. 

My favorite memory of Ben was on April 27th, 2011 when the office was on Pinhook Road. He came into the dispatch office and pointed to the calendar and said " You mean to tell me that we have a truck going from NJ to CA" I said yes, we do! He got down on his knees and made the sign of the cross and declared that day will always be known as DEDICATED DAY!
