Audrey Dauzat Barilleaux

Audrey Dauzat Barilleaux, age 93, of Metairie, LA, passed away Monday, September 23, 2024 at The Sanctuary at Passages Hospice. Audrey was born in Hessmer, LA to the late Effie Carmouche and Curry Dauzat. She was raised by her Grandparents, the late Javalee DeSoto and Urbin Carmouche in Fifth Ward, LA. Affectionately known as “Coon”, Audrey graduated Valedictorian from Fifth Ward High School in 1947. She played basketball and was named MVP her senior year. After graduation she moved to New Orleans. Audrey loved to bowl and was in multiple leagues. She also enjoyed ceramics, sewing, and many other crafts. She is predeceased by her daughter, Effie Sarti; granddaughter, Skylar Sarti; and brothers, Michel, Roy, and Ivry Dauzat. She is survived by her son, Keith (Barbara) Barilleaux; daughter, Susan (Gary) Landry; granddaughter, Stacey Hedrick; grandson, Lawrence (Jami) Sarti, Jr.; step-granddaughter, Tammy “Troy” Fischer; 11 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Fr. Chris DeLerno, Deacon Chuck LeBlanc, and the staff at The Sanctuary at Passages Hospice. Service will be Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 6425 West Metairie Avenue, Metairie, LA 70003. Visitation is from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. with mass at 12:00 p.m. followed by the interment at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
