Adrian Donald Garner passed away on May 23, 2022, at the age of 80. He was born on June 28, 1941 in New Orleans. He graduated Alcee Fortier High School, class of 1959. He then went on to work in the field of computer operations for Exxon Mobil and later customer service for Delta Air Lines. Adrian was a member of the Krewe of Endymion. His other interests included traveling with his family, particularly taking trips to Alys beach with his grandchildren, enjoying weekly lunches with grandson Ethan, enjoying his chocolate snowballs with granddaughters Caitlin and Margaret, watching his granddaughter Natalie perform and sing on stage in multiple performances and going on outings to the casino.
Adrian is preceded in death by his mother, Leona Ecosta Garner McDonald, his stepfather, William McDonald; his sister, Claudine Garner Spano (Anthony); his brother, Jesse Emile Garner (Patricia); and his father in law, William Alphonse Gex. He is survived by his spouse of 59 years, Mary Ann Gex Garner; their sons, James Michael Garner (Tracie) and Steven Anthony (Lisa); his brothers, William John Garner and Louis John Garner; his grandchildren, Ethan Michael Garner, Caitlin Mary Garner, Margaret Helen Garner, and Natalie Elizabeth Garner; his mother in law, Theresa Gemming Gex; and his sisters in law, Linda Gex Fredericks (Rodney) and Janet Gex Wootan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Adrian’s name to the Sher Garner Scholarship Fund at Tulane Law School at Giving.tulane.edu/law or by check sent to Tulane University P.O Box 61075 New Orleans, La 70161. The scholarship assists New Orleanians seeking a law degree from Tulane Law School.

Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2022 at St. Angela Merici Church, 901 Beverly Garden Dr. Metairie, LA 70002. Followed by Mass at 12:30p.m. Burial will take place in St. Louis No. 3 Cemetery.
