International Bodybuilder Chocolate Thunder, of Niantic, Connecticut and formerly of New London and Uncasville passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023.
Chocolate Thunder was born Walter L. Edwards, II, on July 18, 1966, in New London, the son of Patricia A. Edwards of Uncasville and the late Walter L. Edwards, Sr.
Chocolate Thunder was retired from the State of Connecticut Department of Correction. He was an avid bodybuilder who enjoyed helping other like-minded enthusiasts. He would travel world-wide for various bodybuilding competitions and meet and greets. Chocolate Thunder had a love for the drum and bugle corps community starting as a youngster in New London/Norwich. He would often travel to watch some of the top corps compete. Chocolate Thunder enjoyed giving back to his community and would often volunteer for the American Red Cross wherever needed. He was loved and known for his protective nature for his family and others and his goodness and honesty to all. He will be sadly missed.
In addition to his mother, Chocolate Thunder is survived by his sister Lisa S. Linder and her husband Matthew of Brookline, NH; four nieces and one great niece and great nephew; and several cousins.
