Michelle was a true warrior in her battle with Cholangiocarcinoma. Michelle was a beautiful soul who brought peace to any room she entered. She devoted her life to caring for her husband and three children. Her smile and laugh was one you will never forget. She never turned down a beach trip or missed an episode of Big Brother or Survivor. Michelle was always willing to be a listening ear or offer just the encouragement you might need. She loved celebrating the Holidays and cooking for everyone. Her beautiful soul will be missed dearly by the ones who love her most.
Michelle is survived by her Husband, John LeMaire; two daughters , Robin LeMaire and Abigail LeMaire (Loveless Green Jr.); one son, Stephen LeMaire; Mother, Rose Istre; one sister, Sandra Louviere (Blaise Louviere); one brother, Keith Istre; two Godsons, Jake Louviere (Meghan Louviere) and Brian Weeks (Jovan Weeks).
Michelle was preceded in death by her father, Horace Istre; her mother in-law and father in-law, Gussie and Renford LeMaire.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 9:00 am until 1:30 PM. A rosary will be prayed at 10:30 am.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Michelle at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 18, 2024 at St. Marcellus Church. Fr. James Nguyen will officiate. Interment will follow at Holy Cemetery.
Immediately following the services there will be a reception at the church hall.
Pallbearers include Loveless Green Jr., Keith Istre, Jake Louviere, Travis LeMaire, Charles LeMaire, David Welty, and Jermaine Jones.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to Hospice of Acadiana’s Calcutta House.
The LeMaire family shows Immense gratitude to Dr. Britini Hebert with Lafayette Internal Medicine Clinic, Dr. Moussaly with Our Lady of Lourdes JD Moncus Cancer Center, and all nursing staff who played a role in her journey, for the care and compassion that was shown in Michelle’s battle with cancer.
