Marshall Conrad Herbert Jr.

NEW IBERIA – Funeral services will be conducted for Marshall Conrad Herbert, Jr., age 84, at 10:00 am on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia. Brother Eldridge Butler will officiate. Interment will follow at Beard Cemetery in Erath, LA.

A gathering of family and friends will take place at Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Friday from 8:00 am until the service time.

Marshall, better known as “ Uncle Bay”, “Woody”, and “ The Governor”, was a kind man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved going fishing, especially when the Sac-a-lait were biting, and woodworking. Marshall will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving companion, Jo Ann Raymond; son, Marshall Allen Hebert (Sandy); Lavon Johnson, whom he loved like a daughter; brother, Jerome Herbert; grandchildren, Devin Boutte, Braxton Hebert, Brayton Hebert, Sayge Lormand, and Bryson Daigle; and one great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marshall Herbert, Sr. and Lillie Lee Herbert; wife, Lucille Leadbetter Herbert; James Meder, Johnny Herbert, John Herbert, and Wilfred Herbert; and grandson, Brett Dyson.

Pallbearers will be members and friends of the family.
