A native of Loreauville and resident of New Iberia, Larry passed away peacefully on Friday, November 18, 2011 at MD Anderson in Houston with his family at his side.
Larry was a lifelong mechanic, first repairing motorcycles with Suzuki, and has spent the last 22 years working with both the Iberia Sugar and St. Mary Coops.
He enjoyed spending time at his property hunting and relaxing. Science and history were also favorites of his. He would often spend evenings star gazing and also enjoyed learning about the history of New Iberia and his state. But his greatest love was the time spent with family and friends. Many will remember Larry as the person who never met a stranger and was a friend to all. His kind heart and inviting smile will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Margaret Louviere of New Iberia; his son, Chance Scott Louviere and wife Cher of Lafayette; his step-daughters, Emily Monk and husband John, and Monique Leger and husband Nathan all of New Iberia; nine grandchildren, Charlize, Chloe and Claire Louviere, Jonathan, Shani, and Kaylee Monk, Heather Pierret, and Victoria and Curtis Leger; four great grandchildren, Kaiden Monk, Corey Pierret, and Anaka and Kerith Leger; his sisters and brothers, Gladys Louviere, Kernis Louviere, Marion Louviere, Lucy Romero, Thomas Louviere, Faye Louviere and Troy Louviere; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Suberville and Ella Mae Rebert Louviere.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chance, Kernis, Thomas, Troy and Kip Louviere, John Monk and Nathan Leger.
