Jenny Marie Thibodeaux Gibbons age 67 of Jeanerette, La passed away Friday, Oct. 23. 2020. Jenny was born January 17, 1953 to Florence “Flo” Marie Broussard Thibodeaux and J.C Thibodeaux of New Iberia. She was the beloved sister to Kathy Hulin-Landry, Angela Simon and Phyllis Duhon. She was a graduate of New Iberia Senior High in 1971, where she served a co-captain of the Jackettes
Jenny’s memory will be carried in the heart of her loving husband of 48 years, Mr. Cletus Preston Gibbons, their son Coby Gibbons and wife Sheryl of Youngsville and their daughter Kellie Broussard and Husband Dave of Broussard. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of her three grandchildren: Zachary Preston Gibbons, Jayden Paul Broussard, and Lauren Elizabeth Broussard.
Jenny was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother (Nanna), sister, and friend. She was godmother to many and earned her title of Nanny to many nieces and nephews. Jenny was a caretaker at heart and she took care of everyone who was lucky enough to be loved by her. Her presence and baked goods will be missed. Jenny was a little league softball coach. She loved watching and cheering on her children and now grandchildren compete in various sporting events. She went to all their football, volleyball, and cheering events, and she attended cattle shows and rodeos near and far to support her greatest treasures. In her spare time, Jenny reunited with friends and was part of one of the longest running Pokeno groups in town. She loved her family with her whole heart. Heaven truly gained an angel.
She is preceded in Death by her parents Florence “Flo” Broussard and J.C. Thibodeaux, her in-laws; Jackie Preston Gibbons and Pauline Bray Gibbons, her sister Phyllis Duhon, and her dear friend Cynthia Champagne.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Fr. Alexander Albert will officiate. Interment will follow at Beau Pre’ Memorial Park.
A visitation will take place at Evangeline Funeral Home in New Iberia on Thursday from 9:00 am until 2:30 pm. A rosary will be prayed by the Men’s Rosary Group at 11:00 am.
