Ella Mae Touchet Delahoussaye

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Albert Delahoussaye, Jr., the former, Ella Mae Touchet, age 80, at 2:00 pm Wednesday August 5, 2015 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Chaplain Paul Broussard officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until time of services.

A native of Abbeville and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Delahoussaye passed away at 11:36 am on Monday August 3, 2015 at her residence.

Ella Mae was a God fearing, faithful woman who devoted her life and love to her family, especially to her grandchildren whom she adored. This sweet and gentle soul loved spending time outdoors tending to her garden and any other yard work needed. Those that knew her also knew that Ella Mae’s thought was, laughter was the best medicine, and she lived by that. Her beautiful smile and generous heart will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Delahoussaye Roberts and husband Tommy of New Iberia; four grandchildren, Shane Roberts and wife Devyn of New Iberia, Ryan Roberts and wife Amy of Lafayette, Kylan Roberts and wife Laura of New Iberia, and Darnique Schouest and husband Michael Schouest, Jr. of New Iberia; great grandchildren, Justin Ray Roberts, Maggie Rae Roberts, Syler Ray Roberts, Hudson Paul Roberts, Londyn Grace Roberts, Mason James Roberts, Kole Michael Schouest, and Brielle Brynn Cote; and sisters, Alice Comeaux of Abbeville and Jeanne Oliver of Erath.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Delahoussaye, Jr.; infant son, Ray Allen Delahoussaye; and siblings.

Pallbearers will be Justin, Shane, Ryan, and Kylan Roberts.
