Charles Joseph Myers Jr.

NEW IBERIA – MEMORIAL Services will be conducted for Mr. Charles “Charlie” Myers, Jr., age 75, at 2:00 pm Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Deacon Theo Landry officiating. Interment will be held privately at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am Thursday until service time with a Rosary at 10:00 am.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Myers passed away at 8:24am on, Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Maison de Lafayette.

Mr. Myers was a veteran of the US Army who served his country honorably. He was affectionately known as “Blue” to his family and friends. He was the owner of Surplus Plus in New Iberia for more than 25 years and enjoyed spending time at his camp at Cypremort Point and traveling with his wife.

He is survived by the love of his life, Mildred Nepveux Myers of Youngsville; one son, Charles Keith Myers of New Iberia; step children, Danielle Landry and husband John and Jeramy Trahan and wife Ginette all of Youngsville and Stephanie Gough and husband Kirk of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren, Falon L. Alford and husband David and Brandy Myers; three great grandchildren; six step grandchildren and two step great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Joseph Myers, Sr. and Evita Broussard Myers; and his twin sister, Charlene Myers.

Donations may be made in his name to Bridgeway Hospice 2014 West Pinhook, Suite 604, Lafayette, LA 70508 and/or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
