Anne Beverly Buford Buford Moore

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Herbert Jean Moore, the former Anne Buford, age 87, at 3:00 pm Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Fr. Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home from 11:00 am until time of service on Wednesday with a Rosary at 1:30 pm.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Moore passed away at 5:08 am on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Cornerstone South.

Mrs. Moore was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where she volunteered her time for many years as a catechism teacher.

She enjoyed traveling and sharing her memories with family and friends in her beautiful scrapbooks she made of her travels. She also enjoyed being outdoors and gardening.

Anne was an avid reader and loved playing scrabble.

Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and many friends will miss her dearly.

She is survived by her children, Donna Thompson and husband J.L. of Gonzales; Rochelle M. Romero and husband Larry of New Iberia; David J. Moore and husband Danny Davis of Youngsville; Joel “Joey” A. Moore and wife Linda of New Iberia and Trisha M. Dunaway and husband Bill of Youngsville; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one sister, Eve Trahan of Youngsville.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Herbert Jean Moore; adoptive parents, Roy Paul and Viola Goutierrez Buford; birth parents, Harry Theriot and Marie Aucoin Theriot; one brother, Harry Theriot and two sisters, Edna Derouen and Bercie Wise.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Trahan, Scott Romero, Jon Moore, Joshua Moore, J.L. Thompson and Danny Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Rolon, Ryan Chapman, Larry Romero, David Moore, Joey Moore and Bill Dunaway.
