Virginia Ann “Ginny” Rootes, age 73 of New Hope passed away July 3, 2021. Preceded in death by her mother Elizabeth “Betty” Rootes, and her brother John Rootes, and her former husband Marvin “Buddy” Socher. She is survived by her son Jeff (Nicole) Rootes; grandchildren: Jonathan, Kelcy, and Kortney; her father Francis “John” Rootes; her sister Suzanne (Asa) Spicer; and two nephews Tim (Kelly) Carlson, and Steve (Liz) Carlson. As an avid golfer, her love of the game, lead her to employment with the Minneapolis Park Board where she worked as a part time golf supervisor after a career with Honeywell and Hennepin County Court System. A Celebration of her life will be held 7 PM Friday July 16, 2021 at Kapala Glodek Malone Funeral Home 7800 Bass Lake Rd, New Hope with visitation beginning at 5 PM. A private family burial will take place at a later date in Elk River.
