Rosalie A. Zander

Rosalie Anne Baker Lovell Zander, originally of Alexandria, Mn, left her body Thursday, February 15, 2018, and, while her life was far more than a farm girl could have imagined, has found true release and peace. Receiving her into her new life are most of her family and friends, having preceded her in death; parents Blanche and Elmer Baker, sister Virginia Dale, and many others. Immediate survivors include her son Larry (Terri) Lovell and her daughter Joyce (Mike Maglothin) Lovell; niece Connie (Floyd) Johnson; grandchildren Kacie Lee- Katherine Gallagher, Kelly Ann (Mike) Roberts, and Adam Elliot (Annie) Forbes; great-grandchildren Scott Gallagher, Aubree Emery, Allison Backhus, Avery Forbes, and Audra Lillian Forbes.

Rosalie left the family dairy farm in Alex at age 17 to find work in Minneapolis only to find herself four years later working and living in Japan, where she met and married Lawrence Hubert Lovell of Galesburg, Illinois, and with whom she raised their two children. As the wife of a serviceman she traveled and lived across the United States, from Maryland to Washington and points in between, and in Europe, spending six years in Germany, Italy, and Turkey. Settling in Washington State eventually, she later married Joseph Zander, and spent happy years square dancing, camping, and more travelling, ending up in Apache Junction, Arizona. She eventually came to live for a time in Texas, then in Alaska with her children, but came home to Minnesota five years ago, at which point she said that it was time “ to come home.”

A lover of dancing, happy times, and all things chocolate, she is truly, finally, home.
