Bob was born on May 28, 1945, to Marian and Dorsey Carter in Webster City Iowa. After graduation from Ogden High School and got married, had two children, and enlisted to serve his country in the army. He served in Viet Nam and was the proud recipient of the Bronze Star during his service.
After returning from Viet Nam, Bob moved his family to Minneapolis and had a long career in construction. Bob was known as a second dad to many and spent many hours enjoying his time with his family and in his woods in northern MN. He was an avid hunter and true woodsman.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Kathy; his children, son Randy (Staci) Carter, daughter Bobbie Carter and stepchildren Jesse McEachern, Kelly (Adam) Wierman, and Matthew McEachern; and his five grandchildren, Jake, Samantha, Marissa, Raegan, and Taya. Also, his three sisters, one brother and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Feb. 18th, 2022, 11:00 am at Calvary Lutheran Church, 6817 Antrim Rd. In Edina, MN with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment to follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Hues for Heroes, 5775 Wayzata Blvd., Saint Louis Park, MN, an organization that provides assistance to veterans who need a helping hand.
