Jeffrey L. LaPlante

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Jeff was the first of Gordyn and Harriet LaPlante’s 14 children. He took great pride in being the eldest child of this wonderful family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Michael (Mike) LaPlante and wife, Lonnie LaPlante.

He is survived by his son, Keith (& Nicole) VanDevelde; grandchildren, Sean and Jacquelyn VanDevelde; brothers, Daryl, Christopher (Chris), Mark (& Ramona), Brian (Pete) and Stephen (Steve) LaPlante; and sisters, Carol (& Jon) Nissen, Patricia (Pat/& Darrell) Walters, Cynthia (Cyn) Walleman, Kim (& Hank) White, Michele (Mickey) LaPlante, Denise (& Jim) Giles, Therese (Terri/& Larry) Saganski; uncle Mike (& Karen) McCloskey; cousins Ruth and Dwain (Butch) Curl; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jeff was a resident at Northridge where he lived with his wife, Lonnie, until she passed in 2007. He was an active Northridge community member and volunteer, building deep relationships with staff, other residents and their families. He was also a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. The Northridge community and Grace Lutheran Church were Jeff’s extended family.

Jeff touched many lives through his hard work, focus on helping and giving to others, and love for God. He will be missed by those of us still here but welcomed in heaven.
