Margaret Mary Sheehan

Margaret M. Sheehan, resident of New Hempstead, NY passed away on Jan, 6, 2018. Margaret (Peggy) was born on Sept. 8, 1929 to John E. & Josephine (Bernhard) Connors, in Bronx, NY. She married James V. Sheehan in 1952. James predeceased her on Nov. 11, 1995. She is also predeceased by her 3 brothers, 1 sister, and step son James III. She is survived by 4 daughters Margaret M. Hewitt of White Bluff, TN (formerly of Haverstraw); Patricia M Kugler of Garnerville, NY, Theresa M Chase of Grant, FL (formerly of Pomona), Elizabeth M Sheehan Boney of Garnerville, NY. 3 sons, William J. Sheehan of Stony Point, NY, Edward J Sheehan of Pearl River, NY, & Thomas P Sheehan of Newburgh, NY. 21 Grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 2 great-great- grandchildren, a step daughter Kathleen M Hunneman of Largo, FL (formerly New City), and 5 step grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Joanne Rasmussan of Calverton, NY, Sister in law Theresa Spillane of Brentwood, NY and numerous nieces and nephews. She retired from East Ramapo School District after 21 yrs. and spent many hours volunteering at Keller Army Hospital at West Point.

Family will be receiving guest at Higgins Funeral Home, 321 South Main St. New City, NY, on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018 from 3 to 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Augustine Church, 140 Maple Ave, New City, NY; on Wednesday Jan. 10, 2018 at 10am. Burial to follow at Fredrick Loescher Veterans Cemetery, 220 Brick Church Rd, Spring Valley, NY, 10977.
