Joyce M. Higgins-Edwards

A graduate of St. Anthony’s School of Nanuet, Albertus Magnus High School and St. Thomas Aquinas College. She was an avid softball player and accomplished Irish step dancer. Joyce was an active member of the St. Catharine’s parish in Blauvelt, NY serving as a Lector. She was an active member of the Rockland Irish American Cultural Center as well. She was an exceptional Home Health Care Aide providing loving care for the elderly. She was a devoted and adoring mother to her daughter and love of her life, Tara.

Joyce is survived by her husband and daughter, John and Tara Edwards. Her loving parents Patrick and Mary Higgins. Her maternal grandmother Julia Joyce of Mayo, Ireland. Her brother Patrick and wife Karen. Her brother Michael and wife Christine. Her beloved nieces and nephews Kayleigh, Jack, Shannon, Brendan and Addison Higgins. She is also survived by her sister in laws Margie and husband Joe Ubriaco and Ellen and her husband Ed Folkl. Her beloved nephews Matt Ubriaco and Brendan Folkl. As well as an extensive extended family of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends. Joyce lived every day to its fullest and will be remembered for her beautiful smile and ability to light up every room.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 8th, 4pm-8pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 9th at 12:30pm at St. Catharine’s of Blauvelt, NY. Burial will follow at St. Anthony’s Church in Nanuet, NY
