Jean Higgins

Jean Higgins (Minichini) of New City, NY passed away peacefully on July 17,2022 at the age of 96, surrounded by her family. Jean was a 50+ year resident of New City. She was born on August 29, 1925, to Dominica and Salvatore Minichini in Brooklyn NY. She graduated from Manuel Training High School and in 1952 she married the love of her life, John and together for 60 years of marriage they raised their four children. She was an Executive Secretary at Albert Ullman Marine Inc. Jean was known for her exceptional Italian cooking, her kind hearted generosity and her greatest joy came from family gatherings. She cherished the time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jean will be truly missed by all.

She is survived by her children John (Camille), Mary Auten (Melvin), Michael (Gail) and her grandchildren Lisa, John, Joy, James, David, Christopher, Matthew, Andrew, Michael, and Caroline. Her great grandchildren are Lincoln, John and Aiden.

Jean was predeceased by her loving husband John, loving son James (Anne Marie), and her granddaughter Kelly.

Family will receive friends on Monday July 25th from 4-8pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, 10am, at Higgins Funeral Home, New City, followed by Entombment at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
