Giuseppe Villani

Giuseppe is survived by his loving wife, Michelina Villani, their adoring children: Lina Cassetta, Anthony Villani, and Tina Falci; his devoted daughter-in-law, Maria Villani, and caring son-in-law, Ray Falci; his grandchildren, Sabrina Vona and her husband, Joe Vona, Nadia Cassetta, Stefan Villani and his wife, Claire Sullivan, Erica Villani and her husband, James Cappola, Thomas, Grace, and Raymond Falci; his six great grandchildren, Samantha, Nicoletta, and Joey Vona, Stella and Luca Catoliato, and Casey Villani.

Giuseppe and Michelina were joined in matrimony on April 7, 1956, in Esperia, and shared 68 wonderful years together. They built a beautiful family filled with love and dedication.

After serving in the Italian Military following World War II, Giuseppe embarked on a new chapter emigrating to the United States in 1971. He worked diligently in various jobs until he found his true calling as a baker at Stella D'Oro Baking company, where he worked until his retirement at the age of 65. These continue to be his grandchildren's’ favorite cookies.

Beyond his professional life, Giuseppe found joy in his hobbies and interests. He cherished tending to his garden, jarring the fruits of his garden, working in his workshop, and crafting his own wine. His true passion was his family and food. There is nothing he enjoyed more than spending time with his family and sharing the many wonderful meals prepared by his wife. Although his eyesight began to decline at a fairly early age leading him to total blindness by his 70’s, his positivity and strong will never diminished allowing him to keep a great outlook on life and continue to be a source of joy for others.

A man of great dedication and kindness, Giuseppe's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of hard work, love for family, and generosity will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Giuseppe's life will be held on April 2, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony's Church on West Nyack Road in Nanuet, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the United Hospice of Rockland in memory of Giuseppe Villani.

Rest in peace Giuseppe, you will always be our “Giovanotto”. Your spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to love you and be loved by you.
