He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Brown, formally of New City,NY, before retiring to Myrtle Beach, SC. George also leaves behind his daughter Allison Conklin,son-in-law,Robert Conklin, sons, Dennis and Dave Brown, daughter- in-law Tammie Brown. George's son,Douglas, predeceased him at age 19. Also surviving are grandsons, Tyler Conklin and Douglas Brown, granddaughters Alyssa, Lauryn, Christina, Vanessa, and Taylor Brown.
" George is also survived by step-daughters and their spouses: Susan and Stefano Tomeo, Monica and Peter Vasco, Marybeth and David Cloer. Also step-son and spouse Michael and Diane Brown. Many loving step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren."
George lived in the Bronx and Rockland County, NY, for many years before retiring to Myrtle Beach,SC, where he spent many happy times with family and friends. He loved his life and traveled extensively, which brought him much joy.
George served in the Army for 2 years during the Korean war. After his discharged, George worked as a carpet installer,and was a member of the New York City Carpenters Union, Local 2287 for 35 years.He worked for Hudson Carpet Service in the Bronx and Yonkers, NY. George worked his way up to become a general forman ,where he was a mentor and friend to many. He later went into business with 3 good friends, Universal Carper Design, North Bergen, NJ, which became successful.
George was a dog lover and had many dogs over the years. He was a sports enthusiast, where he continued being a loyal NY fan while residing in SC.He loved his restful days at the beach,enjoyed being on a bowling league with his late brother Richie and friends, was a lot of fun to be with, and had a great sense of humor. He lived his life his way to the fullest.
George was very proud of his family, touched many lives, and will be forever missed.

Tues Nov 19th Higgins Funeral Home 321 So Main St. New City, NY.
Family will be receiving guests from 2-4, 7-9.
Wed Nov 20th at 9:45 am Higgins Funeral Home for final prayer's, followed by religious services at the Chapel at Ascension Cemetery 11 am, burial at graveside, 640 Saddle River Rd, Airmont, NY.
