Francis J. Johnson II

Francis J. (Frank) Johnson II of Nyack NY, 42 years old, passed away peacefully at home on August 8, 2022. Frank was born on February 5, 1980 in Suffern, NY; after living in Manhattan for several years, he returned to Rockland County in 2018. He graduated from Clarkstown South High School in 1998. He studied at Fordham University (at Lincoln Center). Frank had a sharp wit and a great sense of humor; he was kind, thoughtful, and accepting of all people. He enjoyed sports, especially NBA basketball, particularly the Knicks and the Lakers; and was an avid fan of the Yankees and the NY football Giants. He also enjoyed taking photographs of everyday life.

Frank is survived by his mother, Catherine (Kate) Southren and her husband David Southren, M.D. of Haverstraw. He is also survived by several aunts and uncles, including Lorretta Johnson (and partner John Waklais) of New Jersey, Margaret DeLorenzo (and husband Robert) of New Jersey, Anne Mallon (and husband John) of Virginia, Francis Johnson of Massachusetts and Kevin Johnson (and wife Leslie) of California, along with many cousins.

Frank was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Lorretta (nee: Murray) and Francis J. Johnson of Nanuet; his maternal great grandmother Margaret Murray (“Great Mom”) with whom he shared a mutual special affection, and by his aunt Mary J. Calabro and his uncle Joseph C. Johnson. Frank will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Family will receive friends on August 12, from 3-7 pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 13, at St. Francis Church, West Nyack at 10am.
