Donald A. Donohue

Donald A. Donohue was born in NYC on October 21, 1936. He grew up in Washington Heights N.Y. He attended Cardinal Hayes High School and then Iona College. He married his wife Joan and they had one child, a daughter named Danielle.

After retiring from the textile business Donald became a Legislative Aide to Senator Tom Morohan. Donald was widowed after 43 years of marriage.

In 2004 Donald married Gloria and added 3 stepchildren (Anthony, Cathy & Tommy) to his family as well as 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Donald had a grandchild Ryan, from his daughter Danielle. Don was kind and thoughtful and frequently referred to as “Mr. Wonderful” by his friends. Don was always the first to offer help to anyone who needed it. Don was especially fond of little children. Don participated in many sports, his favorite was golf. Don was loved by all who knew him and will certainly be missed. Don is survived by is wife Gloria, his daughter Danielle, his brother Al, his step children, grand children, an great grandchildren.

Visiting will be held at Higgins in New city Tuesday, September 22 from 3pm to 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church (Tappan, NY) on Wednesday September 23 at 10am, followed by burial at Gate of Heaven (Valhalla).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Joe Raso Hospice and the Alzheimer's Association.
