Catherine T. Dooley

Catherine Dooley, age 80, of New City, NY, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2016. Catherine was born in Manhattan, but lived most of her life in New City. She was born on January 8, 1936 to Bernard and Ann McGivern. She married the love of her life, Denis in 1959, who are both devote catholics and long-time parishioners of St, Francis of Assisi Parish, in West Nyack, NY.

Catherine would best be remembered for her great sense of humor and her laughter. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, and collecting dolls. Her dogs also brought her a great deal of joy. She retired from Clarkstown School District as a school bus driver. Also, volunteered for the New City Ambulance Corps and lately volunteered at St Gregory's Church in Garnerville, NY.

She is survived by her loving husband Denis, her four daughters; Winnie Saraceno, Dawn Kelly, Christina Elias and Kathleen Chindemi, her son; Denis B. Dooley, and her son-in law; Danny Saraceno. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren; Bryan, Deven, Shane, Lance, Cody, Caitlyn, Tanner, Alana, Corrina, Wade, Dakota, Daiton, and Michael, along with her

4 great-grandchildren; Jaydan, Ethan, Trevor, and Scarlett Rose, and her sister; Mary Sarah DiBella in addition to many loving nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, April 17, from 3 - 7pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 18, 10am at St. Francis of Assissi in West Nyack, NY followed by interment at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
