Anthony Schiano, longtime resident of New City, NY, passed away on November 8, 2019. Anthony’s greatest joys in life were his family and helping others. He was a proud Army Veteran. He was an Insurance Broker for 30 years. During that time he also studied and became an EMT and Paramedic for the New City Ambulance Corp, as well as, Rockland Paramedics. He was a lifelong member of the New City Ambulance Corp. He also served as the EMT for Clarkstown Soccer Club for many years. He was born on December 11, 1938 to Pasquale and Maria Schiano in Brooklyn, NY. Anthony married the love of his life, Lucille, in 1960. Anthony’s other greatest love in life was his family. He loved when his family could all be together; Sunday dinners were a particular favorite of his. He loved watching his grandchildren in their activities. He is survived by his wife Lucille of 59 years, his daughters Maria Schiano-Trizzino and Donna Gereg, his son-in-law Joe Trizzino, and grandchildren Angela, Christina, Jacquelyn, Amanda, Anthony and Nicole, in addition to many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday Nov 13 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Nov 14 10am, at St. Augustine’s Church, New City, followed by interment at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley, NY.
