Anthony Caramanica passed away on December 15, 2024, at the age of 82 in Boca Raton, Florida. Born on October 23, 1942, in New York City to the late Antonio and Lea (Pecorino) Caramanica, Anthony dedicated much of his life to public service, both in the military and in law enforcement.
Anthony served honorably in the United States Army, a commitment that reflected his dedication to service. After his military career, he continued his life of service as a New York City Police Officer followed by a position with the Rockland County Sheriff's Department. His work in law enforcement was marked by the same charisma and charm that he brought to all areas of his life.
Known for his ability to light up any room, Anthony was not only charismatic and funny but also deeply caring. He cherished his role as a father and was always ready to do anything for his children. He was also a loving brother to his sisters, embodying the role of a family man with all his heart.
Anthony is survived by his son, Dominic Caramanica; daughter, Diane Caramanica; and sister, Catherine (Renee). He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Caramanica and sister, Rose Marie Distelhurst (Caramanica).
Services to honor Anthony's life will be held at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home 321 S Main St, New City, NY 10956 with showings from 3 pm to 7 pm on Sunday December 22, 2024. A mass will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church Nanuet, NY at 10 am on Monday December 23, 2024. Interment will follow at St. Anthony.
