Vincent Thomas Ribes

Vincent Thomas Ribes, 92, husband of the late Josephine (Urso) Ribes passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at home surrounded by his family. He was born June 10, 1932 in Hartford a son of the late Vincent and Anna (Swider) Ribes. Vincent was a long time member of St. Ann Church, New Britain, and retired from Stanley Works after 43 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He and Josephine were “snowbirds” splitting their time between their cottage in Madison and a home in Florida for more than 20 years. He was an avid UCONN Women’s basketball fan and a Kansas City Chiefs fan.

We will always be blessed and grateful for having the best Dad ever! Vincent is survived by three daughters; Joanne Stula and husband Charles of Wethersfield, Karen Ribes of Wethersfield and Nancy Ribes and her spouse Roseli DoCarmo of East Hartford as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Frances Smedberg.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday, December 16, 2024 from 4-7 pm at New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain,CT. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 17 beginning at 9am at the funeral home followed a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Ann’s Church, 101 North St, New Britain. Burial next to his beloved wife with military honors, will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
