Robert Martin

Robert "Pete" Martin, 93, husband of the late Norma (Simard) Martin passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024. He was born January 9, 1931 in Ft.Kent, Maine a son of the late Ligorie and Lillian (Bouthot) Martin. Robert proudly served his country in the U.S.Army during the Korean Conflict and then worked for Fafner Bearing Co. until his retirement.

Pete as he was known was a kind and caring man who would help anyone that needed it, he enjoyed having dinners with family and then playing cards.

He is survived by three brothers; John Martin of Maine, Alfred (Jacqueline) Martin of Southington and Raynold(Nancy) Martin of Florida, three sisters; Freida Pelletier, Linda Blanchette and Kathleen Nadeau all of Maine, brothers-in-law; Bert(Rowena) Simard of Plainville, Oneil(Irene) Simard of Florida and Lester (Sue Mason) Simard of Florida and a sister-in-law, Emely Roy of Kensington. He also leaves his godchildren; Wayne Simard and Shirley Chabre as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers; Raymond, Tommy, Joseph and Donald Martin and three sisters; Theresa Pelletier, Ann Plourde and Mary Esther Olszenski.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 11am at Holy Spirit Church 183 Church St., Newington, CT 06111. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Rocky Hill, CT. Relatives and friends my call at New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT on Friday, June 28 from 9:30-10:30am, prior to the mass.
