Richard Allen Bonacum of West Hartford, CT went home to our Father on September 28, 2024 surrounded by his family. Richard was born on June 21, 1940 in Woodside, Queens, NY to Edward and Minnie Bonacum. He was predeceased by his brother Eddie at the age of 3 to whom he didn’t get a chance to meet. He leaves behind his loving wife Barbara and son Richard & wife Dorothy and daughters Cheryl & Donna along with grandson Steven to whom he was a great role model. He grew up and spent the majority of his life in New Hyde Park, NY on Long Island. Richard was a “true gentleman” always putting his family first no matter what. In his free time you could find Richard enjoying fishing, model airplanes, steam engines and Tuesday morning “coffee clotch” with his buddies on the ham radio, which he traded in for Tuesday morning coffee and donuts at the apartment complex where he recently lived. He and wife Barbara moved to East Marion, NY on Long Island where he enjoyed his “million $$ view” and dog Pi making lasting memories with family and friends Richard was a man of great faith, a gift he left his family that gives us strength till “we all meet again in Heaven”
