Philip William Jackie

He was born in New Britain in 1967 to Andrew and Nancy (Parker) Jackie. He graduated from E.C. Goodwin Technical High School in 1985. After graduating, he immediately started his career in the family car wash business with his dad and never looked back.

In 2018 Phil met his soulmate, Flora Estevez. They fell in love almost instantly and shared endless happiness, gratitude, and laughter together. They enjoyed going on long walks and going out to dinner, which almost always ended with dessert and Phil jokingly muttering “I’m not sharing.”

Phil was predeceased by his father Andy Jackie.

Phil leaves behind his wife, Flora Estevez, his children, Philip A. Jackie, Stephanie and her husband Alexander Jezouit, Kristina, Kasia, and Kayla Jackie and Stephanie and Tiffany Flores, his beloved mother, Nancy Jackie, his brother Paul, and his wife Barbara Jackie along with his nieces, friends, and former spouses Anna and Andrea.

Phil was a very simple and humble man. He had an incredible work ethic and was a dedicated, proud business owner. At the same token he was always looking for a bargain or negotiating a cash deal. He shopped for most things at Costco and inherited the phrase “Jackie’s don’t pay retail.” He had the gift to gab and could spark a conversation with anyone he met. He was known for his sense of humor and sarcasm.

Growing up he was a handful. He carried that into his adult life by always needing to be doing something, usually in the form of doing things for others. He proudly took the greatest care of his mother after his father’s passing in 2016 and was constantly busy taking care of his wife and kids as well. Even as they got older, he was only a phone call away and would drop everything for anyone.

Phil held many titles in his life including entrepreneur, husband, son, brother, and friend, but his favorite role was being a father. He loved nothing more than spending time with his children. He was always there for them, whether he was driving them to school, bringing them for a coffee, or spending hours catching up on the phone.

Although he fought through his share of struggles, he was the happiest, healthiest, and most peaceful in his life before he passed. It was an incredible metamorphosis for his family to witness. He never missed a chance to tell his loved ones how proud he was of them or how much he loved them, and they were equally as proud of him.

He had a passion for music, especially the Beatles, Snoop Dogg and OutKast. He also found peace exercising, cooking, and on the beach, specifically the many vacations to Sanibel Island and more recently the Dominican Republic.

There was a very special place in his kind heart for his dogs Rocky, Molly, Maggie, Teddy and most recently his beloved Leo who he treated like a king.

Visitation Monday, Sept. 30, at 9:00 – 10:00am at the New Britain Memorial Funeral Home on Farmington Ave. in New Britain followed by funeral services at Saint Mary’s Church in Newington at 10:30am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Phil’s name to the CT Humane Society.
