Michael A. Buczek

Michael A. Buczek, a proud father, grandfather, devoted husband, and loyal friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his four loving children on April 2, 2024. Mike served in the United States Army and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He was a New Britain Native where he sustained a long and fulfilling career in the grocery business that spanned 45 years.

Mike was a beloved member of the community and was actively involved in the Lords Club for many years. He was known for his love of sports, particularly the Giants and the Yankees, and he passed on this passion to his children by coaching their sports teams. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren, always making sure everyone knew how proud he was of them.

Mike leaves behind his daughter Brenda and her Husband Ricky Leone of Bristol, Daughter Rene and her husband Dean Velodota of Plainville, Son Kevin and his wife Bonnie Griffin of Boise, Idaho, and daughter Rhonda and her husband Steve Barbagallo of Plainville, his 8 grandchildren who he adored - Michael, Nicholas, Randy, Bryanna, Spencer, Lindsay, Camille, and Carlyne, his extended family Penny and Katie DiPace, and several nieces and nephews.

In his free time, Mike enjoyed camping, watching war movies, and listening to music. He had a great sense of humor and was known for his quick wit and infectious laugh. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Michael is predeceased by his mother and father, Dorothy and Anthony Buczek, his beloved wife Denise Buczek, and his best friend Bob DiPace. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

Burial will be at CT Veterans Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown, CT at 9am on Friday, May 17, 2024; everyone is asked to meet directly at the cemetery. Friends and relatives may then visit with the family at New Britain Memorial - Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT from 11-1:00pm.

He will be remembered as a loving father, devoted husband, loyal friend, and proud veteran. May he rest in peace.
