Mary T. (Otulak) Samul, 96, widow of Stanley A. Samul, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Avon Health Care Center after a long illness with her family by her side. Mary was born March 4, 1921 in New Britain and was daughter of the late Thomas and Zofia (Bak) Otulak. She was a parishioner of St. Jerome Church, New Britain. Mary was a devoted wife and mother who cherished time spent with family. Her greatest joys were tending to family, creating celebrations for every holiday and event and contributing her talents in the kitchen. Her resolve to love unconditionally coupled with constant humility and grace was the glue that bound our entire family.
She is survived and will be dearly missed by her two daughters; Karen Samul and husband Michael Dube of Burlington and Kathy Samul and husband Gardner Ruggles, Jr., of East Granby, a brother; Joseph Otulak and wife Naomi of Farmington, two precious grandchildren; Sunny Marie Dube and Sylvie Y.R. Dube, and nieces and nephews; Janice Otulak, Laura Ann Otulak, Stephen & Pam Samul, Roger & Ellen Samul, Judy Ziezuliewicz, Thomas Ziezulewicz, Carol Ann and Kenneth Graham, Paula and John Buchner of Pomona, California and Larry Piwnicki. Mary was also predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

A time of visitation will be held Friday, March 31, 2017, 8:30-9:30am at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, followed by her funeral liturgy at 10:00am in St. Jerome Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
