Mark was an award winning international artist and studied painting and graphic design at the University of Connecticut and at Massachusetts College of Art earning his BFA and MFA. Mark exhibited his work locally and internationally; in Paris, Montreal, as well as, New York. Mark was adjunct professor of Graphic Design for 11 years at Tunxis Community College. Mark was a wonderful son, brother and uncle. He loved being with his family and friends, but his passion has always been his art.
Besides his devoted parents, Nicholas and Mary Catalina he is survived by his sister, Lynne Prairie of Southington, a nephew Michael Prairie and his wife Cynthia and a niece, Nicole Peterson and her husband, Brett. He is also survived by his aunt Gloria Mariotti and many dear friends and cousins.
Funeral services will be on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 9:00 AM at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain, followed by the funeral liturgy at 10:00 AM at Holy Cross Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday September 29th from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. (Directions: I-84, take right off exit #37, 1.5 miles on right.)
