Jack John Lapila, 82, widower of Eleanor (Tomer) Lapila, of New Britain, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015. Jack was born in New Britain and was son to the late Giuseppe and Vincenza (Mezzio) Lapila. Jack was a retiree of Goldsmith flooring after many years of service and a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his daughter, Ellie Buchko of Plainville, a sister, Josephine Thierrien of Wethersfield, a grandson, Steven Miller II of Plainville, a granddaughter, Angela Daigle of Southington, two great grandsons, Steven Miller II and Dalton Miller, and several nieces and nephews including Virginia and Nicky who took very special care of Jack during his times of need. Jack was also predeceased by a daughter, Jill Forlis.
A time of visitation will be held Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 2-4pm followed by a Prayer Service at 4PM at the New Britain Memorial Donald D.Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain.
