Dorothy S. (Siwicki) Bogacz, 83, widow of Edward Bogacz since 1991, of New Britain, entered into God's care on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Hospital of Central CT. She was born in New Britain on Feb. 25, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Wincenty and Aleksandra (Miastkowski) Siwicki. Dorothy retired from Stanley Works in 1991 after 40 years of service and was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and a former officer of the Sacred Heart Ladies Guild.
Dorothy enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods, Atlantic City, playing Bingo and her special pal Princess. She is survived and will be dearly missed by; her sister, Anne Bogdan of New Britain, her nieces; Carol DePinto, Barbara Bylaard, Maryann Pivonka, Sandra Marcinczyk, Donna Siwicki, Valerie Balch, her nephews; Carl W. Symecko, David Sieputowski, James Bogdan, Edward Siwicki Jr., sisters in law; Josephine Kawa and two in Poland, Wladyslawa Kwapniewski and Stanislawa Curyllo, sixteen great nieces and nephews, twenty-eight great great nieces and nephews and will be missed by her extended family, Halina, Jozef, Lucia, Ewa, and in Poland, Rev. Ed Seremet. Dorothy was also predeceased by her sisters; Mary Siwicki, Loraine Symecko, Hedwig Foley, Sophie Sieputowski and brother, Edward Siwicki. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of N-2 at Hospital of Central CT for the compassionate care given.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 23, 2012 beginning at 9:30am at New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain followed by the funeral liturgy at 10:30am in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome for visitation hours being held TODAY, March 22, 2012 from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
